Llano de las Ánimas - Spain’s Hardest Climb! Canary Islands Spain

There is absolutely no doubt, Llano de las Ánimas is by far the hardest road climb I’ve ever attempted and one that took absolutely no prisoners! Sweat and blood left on the road, a sacrificial drone moment and more physical and mental reserves than I thought I had in me.

With gradients beyond 30% and gaining over 2,000 metres elevation from sea level to summit in a mind blowing 15.7 km there are few roads on the planet that rival these stats for pure brutality.

I have to say, I am immensely proud of this video. The physical challenge of Ánimas is real but it’s only now as I reflect on the journey it takes to create each edit that I realise just how deep I have to go, and even now as the dust settles I still ask myself “how on earth did I manage to ride, film and produce that solo?” I guess some questions don’t need an answer.

Unfortunately I never got to have a proper crack at Ánimas as I crashed out the day after filming, put myself in hospital and had to take a month off the bike, but hey-ho, that’s how it goes.

If you enjoyed this video please do me a solid and like, comment, subscribe and share the word, or consider making a donation to help keep the wheels and cameras rolling. Any support is hugely appreciated.

Thanks so much for watching.
